I remember when Uncle Norman came to visit us in Austin, his place was at the end of the dinning room table that was next to the living room. That's the place he could sit without having to move much to either visit with the rest of us in the living room or eat when the meals were served. At grandma's I remember his room in the back of the house next to the kitchen. It was always kind of a mystery to me when we visited because the door was always shut. Uncle Norman had his challenges that as kids we didn't really understand because as most kids do, all we saw was the outside. But as I got older and even now when I look back at the times we were together, Uncle Norman had a huge heart filled with a lot of unconditional love for his family, especially all the little nieces and nefewes. I remember the big smile that would always come across his face when any of us came to visit. I take great comfort in the fact that Uncle Normans physical body now matches his perfect spirit.
