Nathan Glenn Jenkins' Obituary
Nathan Glenn Jenkins, affectionately known as Nate to his friends and family, was born on November 18, 1961, in Channelview, Texas. He was known for being a protector of his younger siblings and friends, a big brother to all, a kind and gentle soul with a big heart and unwavering faith.
He is preceded in death by mother and father, Virginia Frances Walls and Robert Allen Jenkins, Sr., his brothers, Bobby and Sterling Jenkins, and his loving son, Doug Jenkins.
On June 12, 2024, after a brief battle with a rare Neuroendocrine cancer and with the love of his life by his side, Nate transitioned from this earthly realm to join his Lord and Savior. His legacy lives on through the memories he etched into the hearts of family, friends, and all who crossed his path.
As a computer programmer and writer, Nate had programs being used all over the world. His ability to tell a story had produced two books , with many more in mind. But beyond degrees and accolades, Nate’s true wealth lay in the relationships he nurtured.
Nate’s marriage to Pam Hunt is a love story that transcended time. Meeting in 6th grade band and reconnecting many years later. Together, they weathered life’s storms, finding solace in shared dreams and whispered promises. Pam was his anchor, and their bond remains unbreakable.
In the intricate web of family, Nate’s presence was profound. He rejoiced in the lives of his children: Jenny Jenkins and Seth Jenkins. His bonus children, Crystal Bryant and husband Jason, and Ryan Alford, were cherished as well. Nate’s siblings—Lori Leppert and husband Mark, Cheryl Taylor and partner Donald, Chris Jenkins and his wife Michelle, and brother in law Darrin Hunt and his wife Jennifer—stood by his side, creating threads of love and support.
Nate’s legacy extends to the next generation. His beloved granddaughter, Kaylee Kenworthy, and bonus grandchildren—Brynn Bryant, Mason Alford, and Wyatt Alford—carry forward his spirit. His best friend, Jim Sisson, and son John, shared countless memories, laughter, and secrets.
Music flowed through Nate’s veins. In his youth, he was an adventurous bass player, lending rhythm to several bands. Later, he embraced a different kind of harmony as a crew member of The Skittlez Band—the only special needs band in the US, where his son Seth finds joy in playing bass as well. The other Skittlez Band members, John, Travis, Virgile and their parents were cherished family as well.
Nate’s impact radiates through the lives he touched. Nieces, nephews, and countless friends remember his kindness, his laughter, and the way he made ordinary moments unforgettable.
As we bid farewell to Nate, we celebrate a life well-lived full of love, resilience, and unwavering faith. May his memory continue to inspire us, and may he rest in eternal peace.
“Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy.”
