Matilde H. Mata (73) passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 in Channelview, Texas. She was born on Tuesday, December 18, 1945. She was the third of six children born to Refujio Hernandez and Rafaela Martinez Hernandez.
She lived in Mexico for 15 years before moving to Channelview, Texas.
Matilde was active in her church community. She enjoyed attending spiritual retreats with her church.
She loved gardening, church activities, and church music.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Refugio Hernandez; mother, Rafaela Hernandez; brother, Armando Hernandez; and grandson, Alberto Mata III.
Matilde is survived by her children, Alberto Mata Jr., Edwardo Mata, Arturo Mata, David Mata, Julia Robles, and Marissa Gil; 3 sisters; 1 brother; 14 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and her dear friend, Hermana Tere Garcia.
