Mary Cheryl Weldon's Obituary
Mary Cheryl Weldon, (74), went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, May 17, 2021 in Kingwood, Texas after a battle with Parkinson Dementia.
Cheryl was born on Monday, October 21, 1946 to Mary May and Arthur Carl Endsley in Kansas City, Missouri. She was raised in Jacinto City, Texas and graduated from Galena Park High School in 1965. After graduation she worked as a Computer Room Supervisor, for the Port of Houston Authority and retired after 34 years of service.
Cheryl married the love of her life Lonnie Dean Weldon, on October 19, 1968 at First Baptist Church in Jacinto City, Texas. They had been childhood sweethearts since middle school.
Cheryl loved the Lord Jesus Christ and she loved people. She retired early at 58 years of age in hopes of spending her retirement years babysitting her grandkids like her mother before her did. Six months later, the first was born and only two months after that, the second. She nurtured five grandkids from the time they were infants until their first day of school and cherished every moment.
Dean said the words he remembers the most from Cheryl through her good times as well as through her most difficult days were, “Dean, God is so good. We have been so blessed”, and she meant every word. Dean says, “As profound as I can put it in words: Cheryl was the sweetest, kindest, most loving person I’ve ever known. She always put everyone else first, and herself last.”
She is predeceased by her mother, Mary May Endsley; father, Arthur Carl Endsley; and brother, Terry Arthur Endsley.
Cheryl is survived by her loving husband of 52 years Lonnie Dean Weldon; two children, Lonnie Shane Weldon and Dena Machelle Haug; Grandchildren, Hailey Ann Weldon, Kyler Dean Weldon, Sara Machelle Haug, Cade Wayne Haug and Brooke Endsley Haug; brothers, Carter Burdett Endsley and Dennis Jay Endsley; other loving relatives and friends.
Cheryl’s favorite scripture: NIV – Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
