Mary Belle Blanchard's Obituary
Mary Belle Barnett Blaha Blanchard, 89, of Baytown, Texas passed away on
April 7, 2022. She was born on October 29, 1932, in Beaumont, Texas to James
Barnett and Sylvia Opal Barnett. She was a graduate from South Park High
School in Beaumont, Texas.
She was married to Hubert Blaha for 21 years and together they had 3 sons and
a daughter. They lived in the Denver Harbor area for several years till they
moved to Crosby, Texas in 1966. After her husband’s passing, she went to
college for accounting and worked for Fingers. She was a member of First
Baptist Church Crosby and Second Baptist- Galena Park. She was an active
member of Galena Park Riding Club and president of the PTA in Crosby. She
enjoyed spending her time gardening and hunting and loved horses. She
married James Blanchard and moved to Galena Park, Texas where James was
born, where they stayed for 44 years.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents James Barnett and Sylvia Opal Cuniff
Barnett; husband and the father of her children Hubert Blaha; husband James
Blanchard; sons Ralph Blaha and Terry Blaha; grandsons Jason Blaha and Jared
Blaha; sister Donna Ray LaRive.
She is survived by her son James Blaha and wife Jan; daughter Debbie Churchill
and husband Johnny; daughter-in-law Pam Blaha; sisters Brenda May, Hazel
Cassidy, and Becky Keenon; brother Calvert Barnett; grandchildren Chad Blaha
(Amy), Brad Blaha (Ginny), Johnna Laird (Jonathan), Janci Burleson and John
Britton Churchill; great-grandchildren Audrey Blaha, Travis Blaha, Abby Blaha,
Gabe Blaha, Tripp Young, Brodey Young, Harper Laird, Trevor Laird, Sterling
Churchill and Madison Aubey; one great-great grandson Jackson Robinson . She
also leaves a host of nieces and nephews.
The great-grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
The family will have an open house after the service.
