Marvin & Gertrude came to Houston in 1954 looking for a better way of life after losing two children. He was a son of a hard working farmer. He believed the way to succeed in life was to always work hard and work for yourself but always enjoyed going back home to Kentucky and visit all family members. Marvin had many adventures down life's highway consisted of being railroad personnel, taxi cab driver - owner, gas station attendant - owner, construction worker of roofing and brick layer, garbage service - owner of many years, tow truck - paint and body shop owner, water well drilling, bar owner, truck stop cafe owner, petroleum tracking company owner, hard working farmer and rancher, and owner of a dance hall.
If you knew Marvin or ever worked with him, whether or not it was the right or wrong way, it had to be Marvin's way. We would all get a laugh when he would say that. He was a down to earth simple man that didn't need much to succeed in life.
