Marie T. Smith's Obituary
Marie T. Smith, 86 of Houston, Texas passed away on June 14, 2024. Marie was born on January 11, 1938 to Joe Nobles and Jeanette Cavanaugh. She went on to marry Earl Carlton Smith whom proceeded her in death.
In her career, Marie was an exceptional salesperson for Avon for many years; she was later promoted to Avon’s District Representative. At one time Marie was an instructor at her church’s Vacation Bible School. Marie had a passion for politics and often volunteered at the voting booths and, was at one time the Democratic Party President for Liberty County. Outside of her work and political interests she enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, working on crossword puzzles, and watching her favorite TV programs like Wheel of Fortune or Crime series. If you didn’t know, Marie was a remarkable Poker player and loved her time in the Casino with her friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe Nobles, and Jeanette Cavanaugh along with her husband, Earl Carlton Smith, three of her children: David Wayne White, Gordon Russell “Rusty” White, and Debra LeJune Dinsmore.
Marie is survived by her son, Benjamin Allen Pope, her grandchildren: Brandy Hope, Michael Thompson, Erica Jo Dinsmore, Justin Pope, Ryan Pope, Amanda Kreger, Davey White, Cody White, Russell White, and Autumne Gobert; great grandchildren: Seth Thompson, Westley Dinsmore, Clayton Nunez, Justin Hope, Jared Hope, Jasey Hope, Jaley Hope, Jordan Jansky, Jakub Jansky, Carly White, and Carmen White; great-great grandchildren: Beaux Price, Kailor Mitre, Kaislee Mitre, Kayston Booth, Serenity Dickson, Eden Hope, Lyric Hope, Journee Hope, and Grace Pope.
