Maria C. Mendoza de Canales (Carmen) passed away peacefully on November 14, 2019 at the age of 73. Born in Linares, Nuevo Leon Mexico, Carmen was the daughter of Luis Mendoza and Isadora de La Fuente. She grew up in Mexico and married Gilberto Canales Maldonado in August, 1970. There, two sons were born, Filberto Canales and Rafael Canales. In the early 1980’s, her family migrated to Houston, TX in which they established their lives. Carmen converted herself to Christ and joined Centro Pentecostal Amisadai in which she met her friends, Rosario Guevara, Angelina Vazquez, Angelina Ramirez, Gustavo Mendoza. She is survived by her two sons Gilbert Canales and Rafael Canales, her grandchildren Alexa Daniela Canales, Ricardo Canales, Gilbert Canales and extended family of sisters and brothers, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nephews, nieces, friends and numerous loved ones. Carmen will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her extra care to her son Rafael, and for her faith in Christ.
Visitation services will be held on Monday, November 18, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. – 8 p.m. with an Evening Service beginning at 6 p.m. at San Jacinto Funeral Home, 14659 East Freeway, Houston, TX 77015. A Graveside Service will held on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at San Jacinto Memorial Park.
