Maria Alba, 94, of Porter, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, in Kingwood, Texas. Born on January 12, 1931, in Angahuan, Michoacán, Mexico, Maria was the cherished daughter of Tomas Figueroa and Guadalupe Anguiano.
On October 11, 1958, Maria married the love of her life, Jose Alba, in Mexico City, Mexico. Together, they built a life rooted in love, family, and tradition.
Maria had a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. She found peace and happiness in gardening, sewing, crocheting, and bird watching—pastimes that reflected her gentle spirit and patient heart.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Dora Cantu; her loving sister, Leonor Figueroa Leal; her treasured grandchildren, Juan Cantu, Jose Cantu, and Ginger Cantu; and her adored great-grandchildren, Emily Cantu, Andrew Cantu, Isaak Cervantes, and Gabriel Cervantes.
Maria will be remembered for her warmth, her quiet strength, and the love she so freely gave to her family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
She will be dearly missed.
