Margarita Bonilla's Obituary
On the evening of Saturday, February 28, 2015, God saw fit to call the sweet spirit of Margarita Bonilla, 76, to her heavenly home. She was surrounded by her family in Baytown, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents and 10 siblings.
Margarita was born on Saturday, January 21, 1939 in McAllen, TX to Aniseto & Manuelita Saenz. She was the youngest of 11 children and a Daddy’s Girl. At the age of 18, she married Jose Victor Bonilla in McAllen, TX on June 17, 1956. The couple lived in McAllen, Chicago, and eventually settled in Houston, TX in 1963 where they raised their six children: Victor Bonilla Jr., Sylvia Bonilla, Eddie Bonilla, Margie Pinon, Paul Bonilla, & Rick Bonilla.
Margarita was known for her feisty nature and giving heart. She was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was very proud of her family and was excited to become a, “Grandma / G-Mom” to 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, & 2 great, great grandchildren. Margarita dedicated her life to serving the Lord and helping her family. She was an active tither, prayer warrior (every night she prayed for hours), and made it a point to live her life by example. She also worked hard to ensure her loved ones were taken care of by any means necessary. Through her sickness, her love for the Lord and family never faltered. She left a legacy of loving and trusting in God. Throughout her life, she touched many lives and will be will be missed by all those who knew her.
A Memorial Service will be held at San Jacinto Memorial Park & Funeral Home at 14659 East Freeway, Houston, Texas 77015 on Friday, March 6, 2015. The viewing will be from 10:00 am to 2:00pm with a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00pm officiated by Pastor Donnie Simpson.
