Mr Malcolm Palmer Ripley's Obituary
Malcolm Palmer Ripley passed away on November 3 with his wife by his side. He was born November 26, 1934 in Galveston, Texas to Joseph and Pearl Ripley and was proud to be from Texas City where he played football, basketball and baseball, graduating in 1953. He married his high school sweetheart, Patsy Mack, in 1954 and they made their home in Chicago, Pasadena, Houston and Sugar Land over the past 56 years. Rip worked as a longshoreman with I.L.A. Local 24 for 42 years. He enjoyed fishing and long-casting; was an active member of the Texas City HS Quarterback Club; played softball until he was 70 with the Harris County Senior Softball League and was part of the World Series Senior Softball Championship team in 2003. He is survived by his wife, and children; Beth and Gary Humphrey, Mike and Anna Ripley, Ron and Martha Ripley, Sharon and Brian Bahr, and Susan Ripley. "PePaw" was dearly loved by his grand-children: Eric and Erin Ripley, Brian and Cori Ripley, Michael Ripley, Jr., Mark Ripley, Lindsay Ripley, Steven Ripley, Ryan Bahr and Melissa Bahr, Linsday Keller, Ben Keller and Chris Keller; and his great-grand daughters: Elysa, Emily, Bailey and Chloe. He is preceded in death by his parents, his four brothers, two sisters and his son, David. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 7 from 5:00 to 8:00pm at San Jacinto Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 14659 Interstate 10 East, Houston, TX 77015. Funeral service will be held Monday, November 8 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of San Jacinto Memorial Park & Funeral Home with interment following. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes that you make a donation to the American Heart Association in memory of Malcolm Ripley.
