Mr. Malcolm John Howard's Obituary
Malcolm John Howard 91, died February 16, 2009 in a Houston hospital. He was born in Hodge La. September 14, 1917. Mr. Howard was preceeded in death by his grandson Jeremy Sick. He is survived by his wife of 70 years Christine Howard; their children Janette Plemmons and husband Bill and, Ginger Sick and husband Cecil; brothers Be Howard, James Howard, Kenneth Howard, sister Mary Jane Silva, grandchildren Regina Wasson, Katharine Plemmons, Melissa Toppass; great-grandchildren Ashley Wasson, Blake Wasson, Grace Toppass, and Allie Toppass and a host of friends. Malcolm served in the United States Army during WWII with the 527th Engineering Company and after being discharged 11 November 1945 he met yearly with members of his unit up until 2000. Malcolm worked at Armco Steel where he was known as Smiley because he would never let anything upset him. Malcolm loved his family, grandchildren and especially his great-grand children. He also loved his church and gospel music. He was a member of North Shore Masoic Lodge AF&AM and a member of the Scottish Rite Temple. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening at San Jacinto Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday February 19, 2009 at Market Street Baptist Church. Interment will follow in San Jacinto Memorial Park.
