Loyd Eugene Dean, 91, was born on November 15, 1934, in Dickens County, Texas, and passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026, in Baytown, Texas.
Loyd was preceded in death by his parents, John Conrad Dean and Becky Myrtle Duffey; wife Frances Dean and sisters, Mona Grubaugh and Lelia Faircloth; and his brothers, JB Dean, JC Dean, and James Dean.
He is lovingly survived by his children: Steven and Traci Dean of Seabrook; Larry and Debbie Dean of Livingston ; Timmy and Erni Dean of Cedar Park; and Kathy and Gary Claunch of Huntington. He also leaves behind six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy and pride.
Loyd proudly served his country in the United States Army for two years. After his military service, he went on to work faithfully for many decades at Goodyear Rubber Company, providing for his family with dedication and strength.
A devoted father and grandfather, Loyd’s life revolved around his family. His home was always open—often filled with children, laughter, and the sounds of games and conversation. He was a coach to many, both on and off the ball field, teaching not only the fundamentals of the game but also the values of hard work, integrity, and perseverance. His influence reached far beyond sports, shaping the lives of countless young people who looked up to him.
