Lou and I were best friends when we were growing up in Spenwick. We did just about everything together. One day her parents asked if I wanted to go to her Grandparents, Minni and CoCo's 50th Anniversary. We looked at each other and said oh sure we do. We knew we were going to have the best night ever. We danced , laughed and pretty much of everything we could get away with. It turned out to be the best party I had ever gone to.
I remember one day, we decided to skip some classes and went across the street to Sylvan Beach, we were just being teenage girls and then out of nowhere, there was my mama, you could see the steam coming out of her ears, we were both scared to death, we knew we were going to get speech of our lives and grounded for a while. But we survived that and went back to school.
But then the day came I joined the Air Force, we had lost track of each other. I often wondered why we had lost each other. Many times I would think of her and me and all the things and times we spent together.
Then a few months ago, I accepted a friend request on Facebook from Lou Kramer, it didn’t hit me that it was her. I was so happy to know we were friends again. But now I’ve lost my best friend again.
I love you Lou, and will never forget you,
Your life time friend,
Valerie Dortch Mouhot .
