Lola Swick Tatum's Obituary
Lola Swick Tatum, 59, of Dayton, TX passed away unexpectedly at Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center on April 20, 2019 in Liberty, TX.
Lola was born April 10, 1960 in Pasadena, TX. She was a member of the New Life Church in Dayton, TX.
She was the daughter of Edmund R. Swick, Sr and Ola Bell Swick. Lola was raised in Galena Park, TX and attended Galena Park High School. She married Dwight Lane Tatum, Sr. on September 24, 1977. Together they celebrated over 34 years of marriage. She and her husband relocated to Dayton, TX in 1991 where she worked as a housewife throughout her children’s childhood before joining her husband in the construction industry.
Lola had many hobbies, some of which included traveling, fishing, ancestry, and enjoying the outdoors. Her biggest passion was spending time with her family and friends.
Lola was a loving mother, Nana, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edmund “Ed” Swick, Sr. and Ola Acree Swick, her brother, Edmund Swick, Jr., husband, Dwight Lane Tatum, Sr, and her son, Dwayne Dale Tatum.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her daughters, Lola Priscilla Tatum of Dayton, Sandy Lynn Tatum and her husband Waylon Taylor of Dayton, son, Dwight Lane Tatum, Jr. and his wife Kimberly Walker Tatum of La Porte, grandchildren, Dominic Lane Tatum, Dylan Dwayne Tatum, and Dawynette Lynn Tatum Freeman of Dayton, Trevor Kai Tatum, Bryce Lane Tatum, and Emily Bree Anne Tatum of La Porte, mother-in-law, Jaqueline Jordan of San Augustine, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 26, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the San Jacinto Funeral Home chapel with Reverand Roland Hill officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Waylon Taylor, Jessie Richardson, Daniel Brewer, Dylan Tatum, Dominic Tatum, Zachary Matlock, Michael Overbay, and Matthew Overbay. Honorary pallbearers are Shari Bridges and Dawnyette Lynn Tatum Freeman.
Family will receive other family members and friends on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 11:00 am with a Funeral Service to begin at 1:00 pm and interment to follow at San Jacinto Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 14659 East Freeway, Houston, Texas 77015.
