Lee Ola Burton, 84, of Galveston, Texas passed away September 22, 2022 in Galveston, Texas. She was born February 10, 1938 to Russell Andrew Oliver, Sr. and Cora Neel Oliver in Kenedy, Texas.
She married Roy Eugene Burton on April 29, 1955 in Houston, Texas where they lived for over thirty years before relocating to Buffalo, Texas. After Roy’s passing, she lived in Palestine, Texas for several years before relocating to Galveston.
She lived a full life as a loving and dedicated daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings, gardening, sewing, shopping, talking to her sisters on the phone, spending time with the great grandkids, and even posting pictures of the great grandkids on Facebook.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Janelle and Joey Williams of Galveston TX; sons Michael Burton of Galveston TX and Gary Burton of Conroe TX; grandsons and their spouses Justin and Lisa Sheffield, and Jason and Amanda Sheffield; grandson Gabrian Burton; granddaughters Ashley Marriott, Shara Burton, and Amber Burton; great grandchildren Austin, Allison, Adan, Dylan, Amelia, Kennedy, Kaleb, Kyle, Scott, Tanner, Matthew, and John; sisters and spouses Louise and Jim Peyton, and Rose and Tommy Thompson; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband Roy Eugene Burton, parents Russell and Cora Oliver; grandparents Rufus and Osie Ola Oliver (Killingsworth), and Luis and Lula Lee Layton; brother and sister-in-law Russell Andrew Jr. and Crystal Oliver.
