Leandro Benavides, loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 95.
Born on November 9, 1929, in San Fernando, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Crespin Benavides and Amada Galvan. He lived a life rooted in faith and devotion to his family.
He was married to Esther Benavides for 67 years that lasted until Esther’s passing in 2016.
He found joy in cheering for his favorite baseball team the Houston Astros and being surrounded by his children, grandkids and great-great grandkids.
He is survived by his 10 children and spouses, 22 Grandchildren, 31 Great-grandchildren, 8 Great-great grandchildren, 1 Brother, 4 Sisters, and many nephews and nieces. Family was his greatest pride, and he enjoyed every moment spent with them.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Esther Benavides, his parents, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Leandro’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and his spirit will continue to shine through the lives of his family.

Nació el 9 de Noviembre de 1929, en San Fernando, Tamaulipas, México, hijo de Crespin Benavides y Amada Galván. Vivió una vida arraigada en la fe y la devoción a su familia.
Estuvo casado con Esther Benavides durante 67 años, que duraron hasta el fallecimiento de Esther en 2016.
Encontró alegría animando a su equipo de béisbol favorito, los Houston Astros, y estando rodeado de sus hijos, nietos y bisnietos.
Le sobrevive sus 10 hijos y cónyuges, 22 nietos, 31 bisnietos, 8 tataranietos, 1 hermano, 4 hermanas y muchos sobrinos y sobrinas. La familia fue su mayor orgullo, y disfrutó cada momento pasado con ellos.
