Laura Towe Rone's Obituary
“ Her children arise up, and called her blessed; Her husband also, and he praiseth her.”
Proverbs 31:28
Laura Towe Rone departed this life on Saturday, December 21, 2024, in Porter, Texas, at age of 60 doing what she enjoyed most, hosting family and friends in a Christmas Party celebration.
Laura Towe Rone was born on November 21, 1964, to Clarence and Dorothy Towe in Frankfurt, Germany. She was the youngest and only girl in a household of four brothers raised in Morrow, Georgia. After high school she attended college and received her BS in Nursing. She pursued this career while in Georgia. In August 1989, Laura met the love of her life, Clark Rone. They married in Gatlinburg, Tennessee and moved to Houston, Texas. Shortly after their marriage, Clark suffered a life-changing accident. Laura quickly took charge and as caretaker, she learned how to care for his injuries and made sure he was taken care of. Laura decided to pursue a new career and began a job that she loved as Contract Administrator with Purcell Construction. For 27 years she excelled in her job and everyone at Purcell became her extended family that she leaned on, cared for and Loved . She quickly became a go-to person for just about anything that was needed including tending to the stray cats around their office. The cats discovered a best friend in Laura. She made sure they had food every day and a warm place in the winter. She would provide little houses with heaters in them for her outside cat friends to ensure they were taken care of. If she was not able to feed and tend to them while away, she made sure someone stepped in. She loved all animals; she loved the Astros and was their biggest fan. However, her greatest love was God. She was a prayer warrior and knew how to touch God. This was who she was! Her gentle nature and kindness brought out her amazing people skills. She made an impression on everyone that came in contact with her. When she and Clark married, she became mom to Layne Rone, her stepson. She loved being a mom and soon gave birth to her son, Ryan Rone. She was actively involved in Layne and Ryan’s life. It was during this time that she met her life-long friend Kari. She and Kari were kindred spirits and shared a rare friendship that most people don’t experience. Additionally, Laura was very close to her sister-in-law Glenda Marshall and niece Paula Mitchell. These relationships were important to her. Ryan brought home the love of his life, Jailenys Alvarez, who became his wife. Laura loved Jailenys very much and was excited about their future.
