Kevin Lee McDowell's Obituary
Kevin Lee McDowell, 47, of Danbury, Texas, passed away on February 17, 2026, in Danbury. He was born on August 18, 1978, to David and Brenda McDowell in Baytown, Texas.
Kevin built a life defined by hard work, loyalty, and a deep love for friends and family. For the past five years, he served as a supervisor for TXDot. Prior to that, Kevin worked for Wismer and Silver Eagle as a salesman, and a plant operator for Magellan. Kevin was known for his dedication and steady presence.
Outside of work, Kevin found joy in backroad sunrises, campfires without trash, music, grilling, and spending time with family and friends. He had an unwavering passion for a good time, adventure, posting daily pictures and updates on social media, quick-witted quotes (see ya on the flipper) and never-ending pranks. No one was excluded from finding his secretly placed fake snake. Kevin enjoyed sharing stories of growing up in Cloverleaf, racing his 1966 Chevy c10 which he recently restored, weekend trips with his paternal grandparents, and summer stays with his maternal grandparents in Arcola, Mississippi.
Kevin is survived by Jayne Griffin of Danbury, Texas; sons Dalton McDowell of Crosby, Texas, and Paxton McDowell of Danbury, Texas; his stepson Griffin Hoffeld of Danbury, Texas; stepdaughter Kingsly Hoffeld of Danbury, Texas; his brother Jason McDowell and wife Glyna of Huffman, Texas; and his parents David and Brenda McDowell of Crosby, Texas.
He is preceded in passing by his grandfathers David McDowell, Sr. and J.E. Matthews, and grandmothers Lola McDowell and Hattie Matthews.
Kevin will be dearly missed by his beloved family and friends, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
