Kay Marcy Russell's Obituary
Kay Marcy Russell age 66, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 28, 2018. She was born in Lubbock, Texas on Oct. 13, 1951 to Bill and Dorothy Marcy. She moved to Houston when she was in elementary school and graduated from Furr High School in 1969. She enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, reading, playing the slot machines and bowling. She loved to shop and drink her coffee. Mostly she loved spending time with her kids and grandkids.
She was dedicated to her career. She spent 30 years in banking starting at Lockwood Bank as a file clerk and quickly working her way up to VP of New Accounts and Investments. She ended her career as Branch Manager at CoAmerica Bank. She was loved by her fellow employees and customers. Everyone wanted Mrs. Kay to wait on them. She did all this while caring for a sick husband and two small children. She did it with such grace, faith, strength and courage. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 22 years David Merrill Sr.; her husband of 5 years Ronald D. Russell; parents Bill and Dorothy Marcy; brother, Randy Marcy; and grandparents Jay and Ruby Marcy.
Kay is survived by her daughter Sandra Thomas (and husband Terry); Son David Merrill Jr. (and wife Sonya); Sisters, Barbara Guerra (and husband Robert) and Gina Helmly (and husband Fred); Grandchildren, Chase Thomas, Justin Thomas, Jordyn Merrill, Kelsey Merrill and J.D. Merrill. She is also survived by a special honorary sister, Brenda Smith-Braswell; many cousins, nieces, nephews and too many friends to count.
At this time the Russell Family would like to thank everyone for your support during this difficult time. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated.
