Karen Ann Fruge's Obituary
Karen Ann Fruge, age 70, of Channelview, TX passed away surrounded by family, on February 12, 2024 in Houston, TX. She was born on October 2, 1953 in Houston, TX to Jerry and Mary Sodolak.
Karen was a devoted mother and friend. She would work hard all day and then traveled to whatever sporting or school event her children were involved in. She supported her children’s numerous activities and even lent a helping hand to their FFA projects.
As a faithful member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, she taught her children the importance of God and church in a person’s life. Karen also enjoyed baking cakes for the church’s annual bazaar.
A passionate sports enthusiast, Karen found immense pleasure in cheering for all the Houston sports teams, with a special place in her heart for the Astros. However, her favorite athlete was her grandson, Gabriel. Being Gabriel’s Nana was her greatest joy and she cherished every moment spent with him.
Karen is survived by her loving family: daughter, Kim Sauceda and her husband Noel of College Station, TX; son, Brandon Fruge of Channelview, TX; brother, John Sodolak and wife Betty of Sealy, TX; sister, Doris Stein of Houston, TX; grandson, Gabriel Sauceda and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Mary Sodolak.
Because of Karen's faith in Jesus, we know we will see Karen again one day. Until that day, she will be greatly missed.
