Mrs. June S. Sholar's Obituary
June Elizabeth Spencer Sholar, 80, of Houston, Texas, passed away March 12, 2015.
Visitation will be held at San Jacinto Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at San Jacinto Funeral Home Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 11 a.m. with graveside service to follow at San Jacinto cemetery.
June was born in Essex County, England on June 25, 1934. She completed Secondary School at Mid-Essex County Technical. June moved to the United States in 1956, living in Texas, Wyoming and Washington before settling permanently in Texas. She became a naturalized citizen of the United States on May 1, 1970, and was very proud to be an American, and specifically, a Texan. June retired from Bank of America, and enjoyed many other interests. She was a great lover of animals and rescued many homeless friends throughout the years. June also enjoyed plants, knitting, and loved playing card games with friends. She was a long-term member and officer of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Chapter 3090.
June was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Reginald Spencer and Winifred Elsie Card Spencer, as well as her best friend and loving husband, Jesse James Sholar. She also was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Anne Rutledge McEntee.
June is survived by a sister, Naomi Dorsey (and husband Leo) as well as a daughter, Patsy Bolick (and husband David). She is also survived by her five grandchildren Joseph Adams, Jillian McEntee , John McEntee, David Bolick and Amanda Bolick, and 2 great granchildren Zaylin Bolick and Andrew Poffinbarger.
She is also survived by her beloved stepchildren Emma Barber, Jean Barbour (and husband Nello), Evelyn Banks, and James “Bud” Sholar (and wife Candy), along with numerous beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Last but not least, June is survived by her long time faithful companion, Bogie.
Pallbearers are Bud Sholar, Dustin Poffinbarger, Joseph Adams, John McEntee, David Bolick and Richie McEntee. Honorary pallbearer is Andrew Poffinbarger.
