Judith "Judy" F Hutcheson's Obituary
Judith F. Hutcheson affectionately known as Judy, a beloved English teacher, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2024, in Channelview, Texas. Born on December 6, 1938, in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of James Falion Sr. and Irene Roscoe.
As an educator, Judy dedicated her life to shaping young minds. From kindergarteners to eighth graders, she instilled a love for language and literature in her students. Her passion for teaching extended beyond the classroom, and she cherished the moments spent discussing books, grammar, and creativity with her pupils.
Beyond her professional life, Judy had a heart full of love for animals. Her nurturing spirit extended to her family as well. She adored her grandchildren and puppies, creating lasting memories with them through laughter, stories, and shared adventures.
Judy’s creative soul found expression in various forms. She wrote short stories, painted ceramics, and reveled in arts and crafts. Her favorite characters from the Peanuts comic strip, especially Snoopy, brought her joy and whimsy. Classical music filled her home, and she attended ballet performances whenever possible, savoring the elegance and grace of the dancers.
Judy was a passionate boxing aficionado, she enjoyed going to boxing matches in Madison Square Garden with her daughter Heidi. Not only did they enjoy boxing matches, but they also spent quality time together by taking self-defense courses.
Swimming was another passion that flowed through Judy’s life. She not only loved the water but also taught others to swim. As a lifeguard and swim coach, she ensured safety and encouraged confidence in those she mentored. Her legacy lives on in the countless swimmers she inspired.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Heidi Holetich, and her husband, Richard. Her brother, David Falion, and his wife, Lynda, mourn her passing alongside nieces Casandra and Chelsea. Her grandchildren John, and Josh (Amber), carry her spirit forward, as does her great-grandchild, Aiden.
May Judy’s memory be a beacon of love, wisdom, and kindness for all who knew her. Rest in peace, dear Judy.
