Juanita A. Wilkie, 80, from Karnes City but residing in Channelview, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026, in Baytown, Texas. Born on January 27, 1945, in Karnes City, Texas, she was the beloved daughter of Jeronimo and Jesusa Alvear.
On October 25, 1965, Juanita married the love of her life, Colin K. Wilkie, in Florsville, Texas. Together they built a warm and loving home, where she devoted herself to raising her family as a dedicated homemaker. Juanita found joy in life’s simple pleasures—playing bingo, dancing, and spending cherished time with her family. Her greatest pride was her grandchildren, each of whom she loved deeply.
Juanita is survived by her daughter, Grace Kelly Wilkie; her grandchildren, Cordell J. Segura, Christian Kelly Segura, Emmaleigh Renee Segura, K’Leigh Aalyiah Segura, Jezika Anna Segura, Jalyssa Danijelle Wilkie, Anessa Rae Munoz, Brailee Kaii Munoz, Renee Jones Jr., and Kaci Jones; as well as five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Margie Cardona; her brother, Robert Alvear; and many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jeronimo and Jesusa Alvear; her loving husband, Colin Kelly Wilkie; her son, Santos Rene Jones Sr.; her sister, Nolia Rapstine; and her brothers, Carlos Alvear and Gilberto Alvear.
Juanita will be remembered for her warm spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and the joy she brought to all who knew her. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved.
