Ms. Joy Mildred West's Obituary
Joy Mildred West was born on October 23, 1947 in Trenton, NJ. She and her parents become one of the founding families of Jacinto City, TX when they moved there in 1949. She attended Jacinto City Elementary School, Galena Park Junior High School, and graduated from Galena Park High School as a member of the Class of 1966.
She spent her life as a dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who enjoyed spending time with her family, studying scripture as a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, being a dedicated fan of the Sugarland Skeeters, and being an active member of the Galena Park Fun Club.
She left this world to be with the Lord on January 15, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mildred; brother, Charlie; and best friends, Duane and Mary.
She is survived by her son, Shane, and daughter-in-law, Quentisha; granddaughter, Katana; daughter, Sarah; sister, Deborah, and brother-in-law, Hubert Garland; niece, Amanda; grandniece, Bailey; cousin, Vinnie; Brian, who she loved like a son; and a litany of friends and neighbors who she loved like family.
