Josephine Chavez's Obituary
Josephine "Josefina" Z. Chavez, 88, of Houston, TX passed away November 21, 2020 in Houston, TX. She was born March 30, 1932 to Jose and Julia Zamora in Corpus Christi, TX.
She married Jose A. Chavez on April 7, 1951 in Corpus Christi, TX. She was employed for 22 years with United Steal Workers of America for the local area in Corpus Christi and then moved upward into the District area with increased responsibilities in her clerical position.
She was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church and served as an eucharist minister, a counter on counting team, strong supporter of Mary's kitchen.
She enjoyed reading her bible, Facebook and watching her favorite novelas.
She is survived by her spouse, Jose A. Chavez, of Houston, TX; daughters Janie Pratt and husband Gregory Pratt of San Antonio, TX, Rosalinda Myers and husband Dale Myers of Dallas, TX, Cynthia Chizen and husband Dr. Robert P. Chizen of El, Paso, TX; sons, Joe David Chavez of Houston, TX; sister, Mary I. Torrez of Corpus Christi, TX; brother, Mike Zamora (Peggy) of Corpus Christi, TX; grandchildren, Adrian Rene Olalde, Sabrina Perez (Ricardo) and Rachael Myers; great grandchildren, Rene Alejandro, Isabella, and Roman Perez.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Juanita Ramirez and Alicia Rinche of Corpus Christi TX; brothers, Raul Zamora of Mansfield, TX, Jose Zamora and David Zamora of Corpus Christi, TX.
