Joseph Dan Hollins' Obituary
Joseph “Dan” Hollins (75) was born on January 13, 1944 in Cleveland, Texas to J.D. and Buena Hollins. He was the youngest of four children. In 1963, Dan graduated from Sweetwater High School in Sweetwater, Texas. Soon after he joined the U.S. Army where he served in the Vietnam War. He worked for Shell for many years of his life where he later retired. Dan had a strong love for his family and took pride in being a father, uncle, and a grandfather. He enjoyed music, art, and photography. Dan was a fun loving guy with a contagious smile that was loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was preceded in death by his parents J.D. and Buena Hollins. Dan is survived by his sons, Chad Hollins, Jeffrey Simmons and daughter-in-love, Michelle Simmons; sisters, Caroline Bowman (Kerrville, TX), Margaret Vickers (Richardson, TX); brother, Bill Hollins (Coleman, TX); two grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and other loving relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 11:00 am at San Jacinto Funeral Home at 14659 I-10 East Freeway, Houston TX 77015.
