Ms. Josefa Champion Martinez, 85, was born on November 26, 1930 to the late Francisco and Maria Martinez in Mexico and passed away surrounded by her loving family on October 15, 2016 in Houston, Texas.
Josefa was a very giving person. She would do anything to help anybody, no matter if she knew you or not. She was funny, extraordinary and a go getter.
Josefa is preceded in death by her parents: Francisco and Maria Champion Martinez; brothers: Frank Martinez and Carlos Martinez; daughter: Carmen Hope; son: Jaime Gomez; Son In Law: Mark Scott and Philip McKneely and grandson: Wesley McKinney. She is survived by her loving children: Helen Scott, Rosemary & Eddie Stanley, Sally McKneely, Jesse & Christy Martinez, Benny & Shannon Martinez, Richard Martinez and Lucy Luce; grandchildren: Justin Hope, Jessica Hope, Jennifer Hope, Candice Chapman Henderson, Matthew Chapman, Little Kenny Watson, Savannah Watson Ponce, Cassie Stanley, Little Eddie Stanley, Amber Jordan, Little Jesse Martinez, Niko Martinez, Mateo Martinez, Reagan Martinez, Logan Martinez, Ricky Live, Jr., Shelbey Luce and Wesley Shane Luce; siblings: Luther Martinez, Paz Salazar, Pura Cardenas, Belen Eldreth and Tomasa Salermo; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, with a Celebration of Life Service to be celebrated on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 11:00 am at Northside Baptist Church, 317 Barbers Hill Road, Highlands, Texas 77562.
