Jose A. Grimaldo's Obituary
Jose A. Grimaldo, of Houston, Texas, formerly of La Pryor, Texas, passed away at the age of 82 on July 31, 2019. He was born on July 23, 1937 to Pedro Grimaldo and Juanita Flores de Grimaldo in Matehuala, San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
He married Maria Antonieta Grimaldo on July 19, 1969 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico and was married to her for 42 years until her death in June 2011.
He was a member of St. Philip of Jesus Catholic Church and a member of the Legion de Maria. He enjoyed watching baseball, boxing and gardening. His favorite team was the Houston Astros and he enjoyed being outdoors with his dog, Max.
He is survived by his three daughters; Rosaisela Contreras (husband Jose Contreras) of Houston, Texas, Maria A. Grimaldo of Houston, Texas and Sonia M. Vasquez (husband David A. Vasquez ) of Rosharon, Texas. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; Jose D. Contreras, Naomi A. Rodriguez, Josh A. Contreras, Matthew A. Vasquez, Sophia A. Vasquez, Joe A. Rodriguez II and Moses A. Vasquez; and a great-granddaughter Vianey G. Contreras..
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maria A. Grimaldo and two brothers, Cecilio Grimaldo and Esteban Grimaldo.
Visitation will begin on Friday, August 9, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at San Jacinto Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday August 10, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. interment to follow at San Jacinto Memorial Park, 14659 I-10 East Freeway, Houston, Texas 77015.
