Jonathan Edward Sears' Obituary
Jonathan Edward Sears, 78, of Houston, Texas and formerly of Buda, Texas joined his Lord and Savior in heaven on March 31, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on August 29, 1947, to John and Catherine Sears in Houston, Texas. He married Deanna Lehman Davis on January 27, 1978, in Houston, Texas, and were married 46 years prior to her death in 2024.
He held different careers, one of which was as an ordained minister, while he obtained his bachelor degree from Houston Baptist University, and continued his schooling, becoming a Physician’s Assistant in 1994. He thoroughly enjoyed helping people. He and Deanna, while living in Buda, Texas, were members of the Manchaca Baptist Church where they were very active. In his free time, he enjoyed his church family and teaching Sunday School, and being married to Deanna. They were always together, holding hands. You never saw one without the other close by.
Jonathan is preceded in death by a daughter, Claudine Elaine Sears. He is survived by his other children, Kent Sears and wife, Rhonda, of Willis, Texas, Eric Sears and wife, Roberta, of Montgomery, Texas, Ginger Shreck and husband, Mike, of Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania, and Greg Davis and wife, Denise, of Pearland, Texas. He has eight grandchildren: Karen Sears, Rylan Sears, Dylan Sears, Kodi Sears, Sean Sears, Erica Sears, Greg Davis, Jr., Zackary Davis and Meghan Davis. Scarlett Rich is his great-granddaughter.
A graveside service will be held at San Jacinto Memorial Funeral Home in Houston, Texas on Saturday, April 11, 2026. Pastor Mike Heuer of Willis Cowboy Fellowship, where two of Jonathan’s grandsons are active members, will officiate the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Willis Cowboy Fellowship for their building fund. https://williscowboyfellowship.com
