Johnny R. Hernandez, 87, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, in Houston surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 8, 1938, in Wharton, Texas, to Jarve Hernandez and Esperanza Rodriguez.
On June 7, 1964, Johnny married the love of his life, Adela Garcia, in Houston, Texas. Together they shared 61+ wonderful years of marriage. Johnny dedicated 47+ years of his career to Wetmore & Company, where his hard work and commitment left a lasting impact.
Johnny is survived by his beloved wife, Adela Hernandez; daughter Patricia Sanchez (Samuel) of New Caney; son John Hernandez, Jr. (Divina) of Fulshear; daughter Margot Morris (Charles Sr.) of Magnolia; daughter Cynthia Bass (William) of Crosby; sisters Patsy Duhart (John Sr.) of Corpus Christi and Maria Elena Torres (Joe) of Houston; 13 cherished grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jarve and Esperanza Hernandez; sisters Ramona Hernandez, Paulina Moreno, Virginia Duhart; and brother Rumaldo Hernandez.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons Charles Morris Jr., Jacob Sanchez, John Hernandez, Patrick Sanchez, Kevin Hernandez, Eric Salazar, Steven Duncan, and Chad Carroll.
Johnny will be remembered for his devotion to family, his strong work ethic, and the love he shared with all who knew him. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
