John L. Brown of Channelview, Tx passed away on June 10, 2022 in Baytown, Texas (Better known as Be Brown) John was born on December 19, 1948 to James Woodrow Brown, and Alma Virginia Durrett in Houston, Texas. John attended Channelview High School.
John married Joyce Newsom on November 1, 1991 in Houston, Texas. John had several associate degrees and certificates. However his primary occupation was installing insulation, pipe fitting, and scaffold building.
John's favorite hobbies as a little boy, was going fishing with his father and brothers. John's main calling in life was making people laugh and telling jokes. John served in the U.S Army between 1967 to 1975. He served as a drill sergeant and served 3 tours in Vietnam. John was hoping for a 4th tour, because he was worried about his comrades, He received several metals of Honors.
John is survived by his wife of 31 years Joyce Newsom Brown, of Channelview, Texas. He is also survived by his step daughter Marlena Gonzalez Story, and his natural born son Don Mena, of Menlo Park, California.
John is survived by his sister Cindy (James) Talbert, and his two brothers James (Diane) Brown and Paul (Elaine) Brown. 5 grandchildren, Donald, Cordero, and Travis Mena, Sean and Zachary Story.
John is preceded in death by his parents James and Alma Brown, and his younger brother Ronald Wayne Brown, his grandparents Jim and Jessie Brown.
