I remember when I went over to Melissa’s, Mr. Joe kept telling me I looked like my mom (Danielle Munoz). It was genuinely so funny to me—until I told him I was her daughter.
That’s one memory I’ll always hold onto, but my favorite and most unforgettable moment with Mr. Joe was when I made him a sandwich, got him a soda, and his favorite chips—Cheeto Puffs. The day I went to visit Mr. Joe in the hospital, Melissa and I grabbed some snacks and went back to his room. At one point, he reached his hand out, and I assumed he wanted one, just like the rest of his family did. But he said, “No, I just wanted to say thank you for making my sandwich.”
I genuinely wanted to cry. I had completely forgotten about that day, but I’m so grateful he reminded me. It’s a memory I’ll never forget. ♥️
