Joann Ruth Shiflet's Obituary
Joann Ruth Shiflet, 97, of New Waverly, Texas, passed away on June 8th, 2024. Born on April 2, 1927, to Frances and Joe Chabisek, she married Walter A. Shiflet on September 24, 1948, in Rosenberg, Texas. A devoted housewife and mother, Joann spent her days crocheting, quilting, and cherishing the moments as her children and grandchildren grew up. Joann loved riding motorcycles across the country with her son Danny, loved riding the train across the United States with her daughter Lois, as well as fishing with her son Walter and his wife Mary. As the last of fourteen children, she leaves behind a legacy of love and family.
Joann is survived by her eight children: Walter, Connie, Joe, Lois, Danny, Terry, Sherry, and Thomas. Her family extends to 31 grandchildren, 133 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
