Jewell Dean White
January 6, 1932 – October 21, 2015
Jewell Dean White entered into the presence of the Lord on, October 21st, 2015. She was born in Cedar Glades, Arkansas to Louise and Tip Martin on January 6th, 1932. She was a beloved teacher and administrator for thirty-six years. Her favorite joy was teaching children to read. Jewell retired in 1993, where she then spent numerous hours visiting with her dearly loved friends and family. She also shared a passion for our Lord and exemplified Christ each Sunday as she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. Jewell instilled her family with deep-rooted Christian values of Faith, Hope and Love.
In 1953, she married the love of her life, Jimmy Marion White, with whom she enjoyed 62 years of love and happiness. They moved to Sheldon, Texas in 1959 to raise their three children. Jewell’s community of teachers, neighbors and friends quickly became her extended family that she loved and cherished abundantly. One of her favorite places to spend time was at their treasured Lake House on Toledo Bend Lake, where she loved to read, solve puzzles and fish.
Jewell is survived by husband, Jimmy Marion White, three children- James Marion White and spouse Meta of McDonough, Georgia, Jerry Dean White and spouse Chris of Moss Hill, Texas, and Jacque Denise Reynolds of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren- Danielle Renee James and spouse Derek of Hardin, Texas, Jessica Nicole Lubianski and spouse Dustin of St. Hedwig, Texas, and Johnna Nicole Davison and spouse Chance of Lindale, Texas; three great-grandchildren- Cheyenne Denise Emerson, Levi Dean Emerson, and Peyton Grace Lubianski; one sibling- Doris Smith of Iowa, Texas.
Viewing of the body will be held at San Jacinto Funeral Home on Sunday, October 25th, 2015 from 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at Northeast Houston Baptist Church in Humble, Texas on Monday, October 26th, 2015 at 1:00 PM. A celebration of her life will be held directly following the funeral.
Final Resting place will be at San Jacinto Funeral Home in Houston, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the American Cancer Society or MD Anderson Cancer Center. The family would like to thank each of you for your thoughts, prayers, and support during this time!
