Jesus Marmolejo's Obituary
Jesus Marmolejo, 81, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on November 27, 1944 in San Benito, Texas to Guadalupe Marmolejo and Tomasa Gomez.
He was self-employed, and had a strong work ethic.
Jesus enjoyed watching sports and was a Dallas Cowboys fan. He got to see them play and have a final win on his birthday which landed on Thanksgiving Day this year. He was always an active person and found joy in fitness – from running, walking, using his stationary bike, and lifting weights. Most of all he enjoyed spoiling and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. This led to him coining the nickname: Jesus “El Grandaddy” Marmolejo. There was never a dull moment with him and the humor he brought along to every occasion even until his final day.
Jesus is survived by his nine children (listed from youngest to oldest): daughter Guisel Berry (Devin Berry) of Shiloh, Illinois; daughter Norma Loredo of Houston, Texas; daughter Jessica Marmolejo of Houston, Texas; son Victor Marmolejo of Houston, Texas; son Jesus Marmolejo Jr. of Houston, Texas; son Vincent Marmolejo of Houston, Texas; daughter Sandra Zuniga (Francisco Zuniga) of Houston, Texas; son Jesus Marmolejo Jr. (Olga Marmolejo) of Houston, Texas; and daughter Jo Ann Pacheco (Luis Pacheco) of Spring, Texas.
Jesus was blessed with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Grandchildren include: Juniper Aspen Berry (4), Aurora Camila Harlan (10), Anaya Miranda (9), Jacob Miranda (11), Jada Cea (18), Andrew Garza (24), Joe Angel Falcon (27), Beatrice Hernandez (30), Victor Thomas Hernandez (31), Jessica Hernandez (32), Tzander Verum Marmolejo (8), Tzadi Amor Marmolejo (17), Vida Bella Marmolejo (19), Mikkel Jesus Marmolejo (21), Nancy Marmolejo, Chris Marmolejo, Krystal Zuniga Flores (26), Alan Zuniga (28), Erik Pineda (35), Jessica Pineda (38), James Marmolejo (24), Priscilla Marmolejo Sanchez (30), Jesse Marmolejo (33), Jonathan Pacheco (24), Yvette Pacheco (26), and Luis Pacheco Jr. (29). Jesus had several great-grandchildren unfortunately we do not have all the names to share. He held space and room for all the grand babies in his heart.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe Marmolejo and Tomasa Gomez; his sisters Ofelia Machuca, Augustina Mahoney, Severita Garza, Cruz Garza, and Guadalupe Valadez; and brothers Victor Garza, and Jose Garza.
Jesus’ life was a testament to love, faith, and family. At the age of 79 he gave his life to Christ and was baptized on August 6, 2024. His memory will live on in our hearts for all who were blessed to know him.
