Jennifer Anne Brooks Contreras, 51, of Pasadena, Texas, passed away on May 29th, 2024, in Houston, Texas. Born on January 12th, 1973, to Don and Geneva Brooks in Houston, Texas, Jennifer lived a life filled with purpose, passion, and dedication.
As an educator at Channelview ISD for 25 years, Jennifer touched the lives of countless students. Her commitment to excellence and compassion made her a beloved figure in the school community. She was tough but fair, demanding the best from her students while nurturing their academic growth. Jennifer’s impact extended beyond the classroom, as she also mentored student trainers during her husband’s tenure as head football coach at Alice Johnson Junior High School.
Jennifer’s interests were diverse. She found solace in worship at Connect Community Church, where she immersed herself in praise and worship music. Her beloved Pomeranian, Olivia, was a constant companion, and Jennifer’s nurturing spirit extended to her furry friend. In her free time, she indulged in gardening, cooking, baking, and exploring antique treasures with friends and family. Whether in Canton, Texas Hill Country, or Corpus Christi, Jennifer’s keen eye for unique finds made her a master shopper.
Her love for life was matched only by her love for family. Jennifer is survived by her devoted husband, Johnny Contreras Jr., in Pasadena, Texas. She is survived by her parents Don Brooks of Odem Texas & Geneva Brooks of Deer Park Texas. Her children, Mary Brianna Contreras and Noah Bryce Contreras, will forever cherish her memory. Additionally, her brother, Christopher Brooks, and sister-in-law, Sylvia Brooks, of Odem, Texas, share in the grief of her passing.
