Jeanne Yvette Brown Jeffcoat
Peacefully made her way home to Heaven on May 9, 2016. Jeanne was proud of being “BOI”, born on Galveston Island to Glyn and Thelma Brown on November 27, 1941. Jeanne grew up in Galena Park and graduated from Galena Park High School in 1960. She was a member of the Jacketeers Cheerleading team. She was very involved in GPHS reunions and gatherings over the years remaining in contact with her classmates for life. She was a lifelong cheerleader and inspiration to all who had the pleasure of her company. She was a skilled typist and bookkeeper. She belonged to the Montgomery Chapter order of Eastern Star. She attended Sam Houston State University. She spent 17 years working for Texas Department of Criminal Justice where she worked writing policies that are still in place today. She was a wine enthusiast and enjoyed trips to the Texas hill country wineries and to Wimberley. She enjoyed gambling trips to Delta Downs and Coushatta Casinos. She also enjoyed deer hunting on the family land in Trinity, Texas. She was an excellent cook and baker, her specialty was chocolate chip cookies and chocolate fudge pecan pies. She was truly blessed and a blessing to all who knew and loved her. She was a loving mother to her two children Randy Jeffcoat (and his wife Cheryl) and Sheila Jeffcoat, M.D. She was a loving grandmother to her grandchildren, Christen and Garrett Jeffcoat, and granddogs Bissou and Beaux. Her surviving nieces include Keli Hughes Lejeune and Teri Hughes Poole. She has countless cousins who she loved dearly. She is also survived by her second husband, Peanut Jeffcoat and his children, Brenda and Craig Jeffcoat
She was preceded in death by her parents Glyn and Thelma Brown, her loving sister, Glenda Brown Hughes, her brother-in-law, Jackie M. Hughes, and brother Michael G. Brown M.D., and her great-granddaughter, Adalynn. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, and the father of her two children, John R. Scott.
Funeral Services will take place on the grounds of San Jacinto Memorial Park and Funeral Home, with a visitation being held on Friday May 13, 2016 from 5:00pm-8:00pm and followed by funeral services Saturday May14, 2016 at 11:00am.
