Janice Lee Griffin Brooks
Janice Lee Griffin Brooks, 70, of Houston, Texas, was called to Heaven on Wednesday, November 16, 2022. She was born in Houston, Texas on June 11, 1952 to Chester Leon Griffin and Wanda Lee Bosley Griffin. She has lived in the Sheldon/Houmont Park area for over 50 years. In 1970, Janice met the love of her life, Merlin David Brooks. Together they enjoyed a long happy life. They had 3 children, Mark, Christina and Jennifer. Janice loved her children dearly. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her whole world. She loved her cats as well, Eleonor and Mae. Janice loved to laugh and laugh, her smile was contagious. She enjoyed listening to her favorite singers Rod Stewart and Elvis Presley. She liked writing Poems and loved watching the Price Is Right. She enjoyed receiving freshly picked wildflowers from David and the kids. She also loved to eat out at Taco Bell weekly and loved to Facetime EVERYONE. She was the best MeMe ever and had a special unique nickname for each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren (MarkMark, Squeaky, Binky, Giraffe, Boogie, Spud, Pickles, Hamburger, Itchy, ChinaDoll, Rooster, Pecker, Stormy, Spider, Geisha Doll, SunnyBunny, Monster, Woody, River Boat, Bullet, GunMan, Rifle, QueenB, Happy, Bun, Jersie Girl, and Noodle). She will be deeply missed so much by all of us.
Janice is survived by her husband of 51 years, Merlin David Brooks. Her children: Mark Totten and wife Marie, Christina Woodall and husband Troy, and Jennifer Courtway and husband Patrick. Her Grandchildren: Blaine Brooks and wife Stephanie, Dusty Wagnone and wife Brittany, Tori Kinnamon and husband Corey, Tess Brooks and Fiance' Kevin, Cheyenne Totten, Tristan Brumfield and wife Geneva, Griffin Brooks, Moriah Carrell, Memphis Hutchins, Dakoda Totten, Taylin Woodall, Misty Trayal, Krysta Courtway and Toby Courtway. And her Great-Grandchildren: Allen Brooks, Zane Sivley, Laine Brooks, River Brooks, Caliyber Wagnone, Gunner Wagnone, Barrett Wagnone, Brenlee Kinnamon, Maddox Kinnamon, Phoenix Kinnamon, Jersie Brooks, AJ Peterson, Adam Navarro, Anthony Navarro, Andrew Navarro and Jaiken Doak.
