James Monroe Clark's Obituary
James M. Clark of Needville, Texas passed away April 16, 2014 in Richmond, Texas. He was born May 5, 1943 in Mission, Texas and moved to Houston at an early age. Jim (or JC as he was also known) possessed extraordinary talent and had a distinctive style in his playing. He was musician, performer, producer, composer and teacher, sharing his incredible talent for 60 years. He was an integral part of several gospel music groups including the Klaudt Indian Family, the Inspirationals Quartet, the Harmoneers Quartet, the Weatherford Quartet, the Texans Quartet and the Blackwood Brothers. He also played and produced recording sessions in Hollywood, Nashville and Oklahoma City for several of the top gospel and country recording artists as well as recordings for movie stars and a TV show. He was undoubtedly one of the best piano players in the industry. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Velma Clark Wimberly and Claud Clark and his brother-in-law, J.C. Worcester. Jim is survived by the love of his life, Sheri Menning. He is also survived by his sister, Naomi Worcester, his sister Delores Doyle and brother-in-law, Leroy Doyle, Jr., several nieces and nephews, and his dog, Mandy. He will be missed by his many friends, fans and the music industry. A funeral service will be held on April 21, 2014 at 12:00 at San Jacinto Funeral Home, 14659 East Freeway, Houston, Texas.
