Jack Darwin Perkins' Obituary
We gather to celebrate the beautiful life of Jack Darwin Perkins, a man whose love for the great outdoors and unwavering spirit touched the hearts of all who knew him. Born on September 19, 1945, in Velasco, Texas, Jack's journey was filled with adventure, dedication, and love.
An avid outdoorsman, Jack found joy in outdoor activities, especially saltwater fishing and spending time on his boat. His passion for nature was contagious, and he often shared this love with family and friends, creating cherished memories on the water and under the open sky.
Jack proudly served his country, starting his service in 1966 and achieving the rank of SP4 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. A veteran who was very proud of his service, he exemplified responsibility, hard work, resilience, loyalty, and confidence in all aspects of his life.
Family was the cornerstone of Jack's world. He is survived by his beloved companion, Deryl F Thompson; his children, Jacqueline Perkins, Teresa Thompson, Larry Thompson and his wife Michelle Thompson; his sister, Jenni; daughter-in-law Sharon Pritchet; grandchildren Faith Thompson, Christian Thompson, Courtney Thompson and Amber Thompson; and great-grandsons Brandon Thompson, Blayne Gordon, and Elijah Thompson. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Harvey M. Perkins and Nina B. Perkins; his brother, Harvey Perkins; and his grandson, Brandon Thompson.
Jack's adventurous spirit and love for life will continue to inspire those who knew him. His legacy lives on in the stories we'll share, the laughter we'll remember, and the love that will forever be in our hearts.
A celebration of Jack's life will be held on January 18, 2025, at San Jacinto Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 pm. The graveside service will take place at 2:30 pm at San Jacinto Memorial Park.
