Mr. Jack Richard Dennis' Obituary
Jack Richard Dennis was born in Ashland,
Kentucky on January 29, 1935. He lived in the
Kentucky/Ohio/West Virginia tri-state area until he moved
his family to Texas in the mid 1960s. His parents were
Everett Mason Dennis and Lena Mae Jones. He was the youngest
of 6 siblings, all whom have predeceased him. He was an
active and founding member of the parish of St. Andrew
Catholic Church, Channelview. He served as maintenance
director for many years at St. Andrew until he retired. He
was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus, charter member of
council 9041. He held degrees in cosmetology and an
Associate's degree in A/C Technology. He was also a Union
Steward while working at Armco Steel. He served as election
judge for Precinct 220 for many years. Jack served in the
Air Force during the Korean War from July 1953 until
honorable discharge July 1957. He received the National
Defense Service, Korean Service, United Nations Service, and
Good Conduct medals during his term of service. He was a
marathon runner and enjoyed playing golf, particularly with
his grandchildren. He was married to Margaret Janet Drake until
she left this world in January, 2006. He was also
predeceased by daughter Denise Diane, 1958; son John, 1999;
and great grandson Vincent, 2016. He is survived by
sons: Steve/Tim, & wife Mary, Jack, II, Scott & wife
Sakura, Mike & wife Melissa; 14 grandchildren and 19
great grandchildren; many extended family members and
friends. He was loved by all and will be dearly missed.
