El 16 de diciembre de 1969 unió su vida a la de María Guadalupe Medina, el gran amor de su vida. Juntos construyeron un hogar lleno de música, risas, fe y unión. Su matrimonio fue un ejemplo de entrega y compañerismo, un lazo inquebrantable que perduró más de cinco décadas.
Ascencion trabajó durante 35 años en la construcción como especialista en drywall. Su labor fue más que un oficio: fue un legado. Con sus manos fuertes y dedicadas levantó paredes, hogares y sueños. Born on May 5, 1940, in Mexico to Juan Garcia and Trinidad Vargas, Ascencion grew up with a spirit shaped by humility, hard work, and deep devotion to family—values he carried with him throughout his life.
On December 16, 1969, he married the love of his life, Maria Guadalupe Medina, in Mexico. Their marriage was a true partnership, a bond strengthened by faith, laughter, and the joys and challenges of raising a large, close‑knit family. Together, they built a home filled with music, warmth, and unwavering support.
Ascencion worked as a construction drywall professional for 35 years, a trade in which he poured his strength, skill, and pride. His hands built more than walls—they built opportunities, stability, and a foundation for generations to come. He was a man who believed in doing things right, and those who knew him admired his dedication and craftsmanship.
Beyond his work, Ascencion had a vibrant and curious soul. He loved mechanics and could often be found tinkering with tools, fixing what others thought was beyond repair. Music was another of his gifts; whether strumming his guitar or playing his accordion, he brought joy to those around him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Guadalupe Medina, who stood by his side for more than five decades. He leaves behind a large and loving family: daughters Maria Teresa Garcia and husband Antonio, Araceli Martinez and husband Osvaldo, Judy Reyes and husband Aurelio, Juliet Martinez and husband Jorge, Marta Trejo and husband Jorge, Ester Garcia and husband Raul, Mary Garcia and husband Raul, Graciela Garcia and her husband Luis, and Sandra Garcia and husband Guillermo; and sons Carlos Garcia, Javier Garcia and wife Nohemi, Juan Garcia, and Ricardo Garcia. He is also survived by his siblings Queta Garcia and husband Salvador, Jose Garcia and wife Reinalda, and Francisco Garcia and wife Silvia.
His legacy continues through an extraordinary family tree—41 grandchildren, 46 great‑grandchildren, and 19 great‑great‑grandchildren—each one a living testament to the love, strength, and guidance he poured into his family. To them, he was more than a father or grandfather; he was a pillar, a storyteller, a teacher, and a source of endless affection.
Ascencion was preceded in death by his parents, Juan Garcia and Trinidad Vargas; his siblings Alfredo, Dolores, Miguel, and Jose Guadalupe Garcia; and his children Jose Juan Garcia and Maria de los Angeles Garcia. Though he has reunited with them, his absence leaves a profound ache in the hearts of those who remain.
