Iris Cordero Bolotaulo's Obituary
Iris Cordero Bolotaulo, age 71, of El Paso, Texas, passed away on January 14, 2026, in Houston, Texas, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. She was born on November 4, 1954, in Roxas, Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines, to the late Walerico Carreon Cordero and Corazon Lazaro Cordero.
Iris dedicated her life to the service of others. She built a long and distinguished career as a nurse, beginning at Goldwater Memorial Hospital and later continuing at the Heart Hospital of New Mexico, where she faithfully served for 24 years. Her compassion, professionalism, and gentle spirit touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues. She was known for her steady presence, her kindness, and her unwavering commitment to those in her care.
A devout Christian, Iris lived her faith with humility and devotion. She found joy in studying the Holy Bible and following the teachings of Jesus Christ. Her faith guided her daily life and shaped the generosity, patience, and warmth she extended to all who knew her. She was also an avid gardener and took great pleasure in cooking and enjoying gourmet food, sharing these passions with family and friends.
Iris is survived by her beloved son, Duer Cordero Bolotaulo, and his wife, Aidee Medina; and by her cherished granddaughter, Emma Cordero, her sunshine and her greatest source of joy. She is also survived by her siblings June Christine, Joey Cordero, Jay Cordero, and Reuel “Bombet” Cordero.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walerico and Corazon Cordero, and her siblings Jairus Cordero, Cyril Cordero, and Ralph Cordero.
Iris leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and devoted service. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives were enriched by her presence.
