Ionia Latour's Obituary
Ionia Latour was born Ionia Longino to Jasper and Jessie Longino, in the small town of Woodside, Louisiana, on January 28, 1936.
She married her soulmate,Berkeley Latour on September 29, 1951 where they began the journey of life together.
Ionia was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister and so much more. She always offered a bed and a warm meal to family, friends and strangers. She was an exceptional woman.
Ionia began her journey home on July 26, 2020. She was in the comfort of her home.
She is preceded in death by her husband Berkeley Latour, (son) Zachary Latour, (daughter) Theresa Jordan, (father) Jasper Longino, (mother) Jessie Vidrine, (brothers) Alva Longino, John Longino, Edward Longino, (sisters) Dorathy Johnson, Drucillo Gautro.
Survived by her daughters, Anna Holt and Tina Cole, son, Daniel Latour Sr (Martha). Her grandchildren, Arthur Holt (Cherissa), Christina Aguilar, Loretta Gonzalez, Alicia Lemasters (Justin Sr), Melisa Brown, Daniel Latour Jr, Mary Fay, Valerie Keith, Brandy Plank, and many great grandchildren.
Her going home celebration will be at the San Jacinto Funeral home, 14659 E. Freeway, Houston, Tx. from 1pm-2pm on August 8, 2020. Viewing is from 10am-1pm and graveside service is at 2:30pm.
