Mr. Howard Lorenze Strange's Obituary
Howard Lorenze Strange, 85, was born on January 29, 1931 to the late George and Helen Strange, Sr., in Houston, Texas and passed away on July 6, 2016 in Houston, Texas. Howard was a member of Baptist Temple where he accepted the Lord at the young age of eleven.He served for 23 years in the US Navy on several air craft carriers as a Petty Officer First Class, serving in the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
Howard is preceded in death by his parents: George and Helen Strange, Sr.; his beloved wife of 36 years, Muriel Elizabeth Strange; brother and sister in law: George Strange, Jr and Patty; step-children: Guy Wright, Gayland Hooper, Lenise Reva and Kenneth Hooper.
Howard is survived by his brother: John E. Strange and wife Carolyn; nephews: Benjamin Strange, Michael Strange and wife Rosie; niece: Connie Cassens and husband James; cousin Elyse Brown; step-children: Polly Morris and husband Donald, Patricia Becker, Matt Hooper, James Hooper and wife Donna; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 10:00 am, with a Celebration of Life Service to be held at 11:00 am at Advent Lutheran Church, 5820 Pinemont Drive, Houston, Texas 77092. Howard will be laid to rest in San Jacinto Memorial Park immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made on Howard’s behalf to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 91023, Houston, Texas 77291. All memorial contributions will be used to send bibles to our Active Military who are deployed overseas.
