Mr. Homer Glynn Parker's Obituary
Homer Glynn Parker, 75, was born on May 11, 1940 to the late Leonard and Maggie Jewel Parker in Horn Town, Oklahoma and passed away on July 9, 2015 in Houston, Texas.
Homer was a comedian to all who knew him and he had a great sense of humor. His favorite type of music was old country and western and he loved listening to Johnny Cash, George Jones and Merle Haggard, to name a few. Homer loved playing his guitar and always had a song for everything. He was a loving father, awesome father and grandfather, which his grandchildren called him “Poppy”. He loved football and was an avid OU fan.
Homer is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Peggy, his daughter, Robin Webb; his son Glynn Parker; granddaughter, Courtney Garretson and her husband James; granddaughter, Kristie Parker; grandsons Taylor, Jordan, and Jonathan; great-granddaughters Molly and Makayla Garretson; sisters Modena Gordon and husband Jim; Jo and Sheena Parker, and Pam Weaver; numerous nieces and nephews; and many, many friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 12, 2015 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm in the Chapel at San Jacinto Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel at San Jacinto Funeral Home. The family will gather at a later date for a private burial in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
Homer will be missed by all who knew him.
