Hipolito “Polo” Aldaco
August 20, 1928 – November 23, 2017
Hipolito P. Aldaco was born in San Juan de Guadalupe, Durango, on August 20, 1928 to Baltazar and Apolonia Padilla Aldaco and went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, November 23, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
Hipolito was the second of eight children. In 1952, he married the love of his life, Ermeregilda Nieto Aldaco in McAllen, TX and remained married until her passing in 2015. Throughout his life, he and his family were residents of McAllen, Avalon, and eventually settled in Houston, TX. Hipolito had a very strong faith in the Lord. He will be remembered for being loving, compassionate, tough, hardworking, and a leader, as well as his love of playing poker.
Hipolito is preceded in death by his loving wife, Ermeregilda Nieto Aldaco; his parents, Baltazar Aldaco and Apolonia Padilla; and his sisters, Monica and Isabel.
He is survived by his seven children, Herlinda Naranjo, Joe Aldaco, Maria Hernandez, Mary Ann Sanchez, Jessie Aldaco, Steve Aldaco, and Anthony Aldaco; and their spouses, Juan, Joe, Rachel, and Angie. He leaves behind his 16 grandchildren, Christina, Laura, Alicia, Michelle, JoAnn, Jackie, Jose, Valerie, Krystal, Jessica, Bianca, Loren, Rebecca, Rachel, Joey, and Joseph. Additionally, his great joy were his 21 great-grandchildren. Also surviving him are his brothers and sisters, Jesus, Olegario, Amadeo, Ninfa, and Maria. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends who were part of the family.
The family extends a special thank you to Mary Ann Sanchez, his daughter and primary caregiver for almost 10 years; to Virginia Padilla for all of her help; and to Lucero, his nurse, for her care as well.
A visitation is to be held on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at San Jacinto Funeral Home 14659 East Freeway, Houston, TX 77015 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, with a rosary to be recited at 6:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017 at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church 11011 Hall Rd. Houston, TX 77089 at 11:00am, with a reception to follow at Social Hall at St. Luke the Evangelist. A procession from the church will then be followed to San Jacinto Memorial Park for a graveside service.
