Mrs. Helen M. Brezina's Obituary
Helen Mildred (Kuciemba) Brezina, Born June 23,1925 in Bremond, Texas, to proud parents Louis and Josephine Kuciemba. Helen’s beautiful soul was taken up to Our Lord on October 7, 2015.
She is preceded in death by her husband John Frank Brezina, Parents Louis Kuciemba, Sr. and Josephine Kuciemba, Sister Louise Wisz, Brother Edward Kuciemba, Sr. and Son-In-Law Timothy Sean Sykes.
She is survived by her daughters: Barbara Jean (Bobbie) Sykes, Georgia Lengacher and fiancé Jim Dooley, Birdie Kubiak and husband Dennis, Rhonda Lynch and husband Rance. Grandchildren: Christopher Kubiak and wife Barbara, Michael Kubiak, Kevin Sykes, and fiancé Rachel, Brian Kubiak and wife Celina, Ian Mobley and fiancé Colleen, Tina Crowell and husband Matt, Starbuck Sykes and wife Mary Beth, Reese Lynch and wife Heidi, Katie Kubiak and Aloysius Sykes. Great-grandchildren: Alyssa Kubiak, Tyler Kubiak, Ryan Kubiak, Matthew Kubiak Jackie Kubiak, Alex Kubiak, Jakub Kubiak, Jayden Kubiak, Colby Crowell, Orion Sykes, Korbyn Crowell, Isabella Kubiak, Regina Lynch, Layla Crowell, and Eli Lynch to be born in January. Two sisters, Clara Bashinski, Evelyn Darnell. Four brothers, Bruno Kuciemba (Gertrude), Louis, Julian (Christine), Anthony (Dorothy). Two sisters-in-law, Pauline Herzog, Magdalene Angelo. One brother-in-law Antone Brezina. Lifelong friend Gertrude Kubiak, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
After marriage to John in August 12, 1950. They moved to Jacinto City, Texas, and they became members of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Galena Park, Texas. Helen was a member of the Our Lady of Fatima Altar and Rosary Society, and the Forget Me Not’s Senior Club founder and first president, Lector and Eucharist Minister, Eucharist Minister chairperson and member of parish council, Holy Name Society member, Diocesan Rosary Call Chain, Ladies Auxiliary Knights or Columbus 2917, Past Vice President. Knights of Columbus 2917 Senior Members Club and Jacinto City Heritage Hall Seniors, past president and vice president.
Helen loved her family and especially all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to sew, garden and bake. She would always have a freezer full of cakes, a cabinet full of cookies, and lots of beautiful flowers for the church altar. She would teach the senior women at the Heritage Hall in Jacinto City to Crochet and would even make her own crochet patterns. She painted pictures in her free time and was very active at her parish. She would help the priests set up for mass and help any visiting priest at the parish. She would create the schedule for the Eucharist Ministers and do their training.
She was loved by all, and is greatly missed.
