Harold Edward May's Obituary
Harold Edward May, 94, of Crosby, Texas, passed away on July 15, 2024, in Baytown, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 7, 1930, in Rayne, Louisiana, he was the son of Elliot and Edna May. Harold dedicated many years of service as a heavy equipment operator for the City of Houston.
A devout member of Barrett Station Church of Christ for over seven decades, Harold’s faith was a cornerstone of his life. He found joy in the simplicity of outdoor life, whether it was tending to his late wife Rozena’s garden or maneuvering his tractor to clear land. His work ethic was unparalleled, and he remained active well into his 80s.
Harold’s legacy is one of steadfast faith and love for his family. He was the patriarch who provided strength and support to his loved ones. His commitment to his church and community was unwavering, and his presence enriched the lives of those around him.
Preceded in death by his parents, his cherished wife Rozena, his children Barbara and Leon Sr., and his siblings Amos, Anderson, David, Vincent, Ronald, James, Anna, Juanita, Emma, and Mary, Harold’s memory will be honored by those he leaves behind.
He is survived by his sister Jeanette; his grandchildren Bobby, Harold II, Twila, Leon Jr., Rolyn, and Walter Jr.; and his great-grandchildren Bobby Jr., Kash, Dalia, Carl, Iriana, Tatsheana, and Tyced. Harold’s spirit will continue to guide and inspire his family, just as it always has.
Harold Edward May was more than a man; he was a beacon of hard work, faith, and love. His absence will be deeply felt, but his influence will remain. Harold will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A service to celebrate Harold’s life will be held at Barrett Station Church of Christ, where he was a cherished member. The family extends an invitation to all who wish to pay their respects and share in the remembrance of a life well-lived.
